
The NEPSE index closed lower on the final trading day of the week. It continued its downward trend from the past two sessions. On Thursday, the index dropped by 24.76 points and settled at 2,628.91. The Sensitive Index declined by 3.01 points. The Float Index and Sensitive Float Index fell by 1.44 and 1.01 points, respectively.
Despite the drop in the index, trading volume increased. On Wednesday, the total transaction amount was around NPR 9 billion. On Thursday, 314 stocks were traded 121,551 times. The total turnover reached approximately NPR 11.23 billion from the exchange of 29.41 million shares.
Panchakanya Mai Hydropower posted the highest gain. Its share price rose by 9.98%. In contrast, Pure Energy hit the negative circuit level after 12 straight sessions of gains. Its share price dropped by NPR 120.68, closing at NPR 1,086.52. Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company and Bhugol Energy Development Company also hit the negative circuit level.
Ngadi Group Power topped the trading volume list. Its shares worth NPR 854.4 million were traded. Butwal Power Company followed, with transactions exceeding NPR 580 million. Singati Hydro Energy saw trades worth around NPR 480 million.
All 13 sub-indices closed in the red. The Trade sub-index saw the largest drop at 2.47%. Development Banks, Hydropower, Manufacturing & Processing, Microfinance, and Others also fell. Each dropped by more than 1%.
